8. Who is your favorite female character?
I could have gone with Chun-Li, but that’s cliché and I think everyone, I mean everyone loves Chun-Li, so I decided to switch it up a bit.
She may have only been in two games to date, but I’d have to say my favourite female character is probably Crimson Viper, who debuted in Street Fighter IV just a few years ago.
I instantly fell in love with her unorthodox design which harks from SNK characters like Vice and Mature, and for her dirty tactics in battle, using hidden gadgets that utilise earth, thunder and fire made her much more appealing in a game full of bare fists and fireballs.
I can’t go on without mentioning her immeasurable amount of swag. She puts Chun-Li to shame from the moment she strolls into the battlefield on her cell phone and dryly acknowledges what she has to do and then sets out to win. Viper’s moves are stylish and never fail to please a crowd, and her fake-outs and tricky cross-ups keep even the most vigilant of players on edge.
At first I couldn’t use Viper at all - she’s a difficult character to play, and in Vanilla SFIV I found that difficult, but as I spent more time with her I understood her moveset, and held my own against my friends I would play with. When SSFIV dropped I played her a lot more and my friends would ask how I used her as efficiently as I did. It felt good being able to use a character so tricky and hard to pick-up and form winning streaks with. Viper is however, a very risk/reward character, and one bad read could mean it was over for me. I found I was best using Viper when I was unrelentingly aggressive in my play style, and my friends had no chance once they were at the edge of the screen.
I was so happy when Viper was confirmed for MvC3. I was on the train home from work and got a text from my friend who knew I’d be made up with the news. I saw her official artwork on my phone and I’m pretty sure I had a cheeky grin on my face among all these tired people waiting to go home.
I’m hoping she’s added to Street Fighter X Tekken sometime soon so I can have my dream team of either Chun-Li and Viper, or Viper with Nina. That would be pretty swish, in the mean time I can look forward to playing her in UMvC3, with her questionable new optic blast special move.
i’m an aries , so yeah im compatible with Leo. which was my biggest concern lol even though in my mind he’s still a guy. Other best part is everyone im most compatible with are my best female tekken characters, except for Christie who i’m sorta unstoppable with and she’s my least compatible…hilarious
